Pavlos Fysakis
artistic director
Born in Athens in 1969. Co-founder and curator in the art collective Depression Era and the non-profit cultural organisation KOLEKTIV8. He has worked for many years as a freelance photographer for newspapers and magazines. He teaches photography at FOCUS School of Arts. He has exhibited his work in Athens and abroad, in solo and group exhibitions at the BOZAR , Biennale of Nice, Photobiennale of Thessaloniki, FetArt, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete, the Benaki Museum, etc. In 2010, he published the photography book Land Ends, which was awarded the prize for best Greek photography book for 2010.

Maria Marangou
curator, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete
Maria Marangou is an art critic and curator, in charge of the artistic direction of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete, in her hometown Rethymnon. She worked as an art critic in the art column in the Greek daily newspaper Eleftherotypia from 1982 until its final issue of the printed version at 2014. She has organised more than fourty exhibitions in various institutions in Greece and abroad. She was Commissioner of the Greek national participation twice at the Venice Biennale [1995 and 2011] and at the Sao Paolo Biennale [1991]. Her curatorial practice focuses on issues of contemporary art that relate with society such as violence, racism or the refugee crisis. She is a member of the Greek chapter of AICA-The International Association of Art Critics and of the Athens Daily Press Editors Union [ESIEA].

Marion Hislen

Marion is Director Photo and Book of Fnac within the direction of the Cultural Action. She also manages Photo galleries Fnac, 20 spaces of exhibition through France. Curator of numerous exhibitions of whom Paris-Pekin, the first retrospective in France of Chinese contemporary art in the Espace Cardin she is Founding and president of the association Fetart, one of the most famous photography organisation in France. She also organizes Circulation(s) festival.

Giorgos Moutafis
curator
Born in Athens. He had his first encounter with photography at the 18ANO Photography Team in 2006 and continued his photography studies at Focus School and Digital Film Making in SAE Athens. He has documented the most severe humanitarian crises and conflicts in more than 20 countries all over the world, covering the Middle East, Balkans and Africa. His work has been published in several magazines such us Newsweek, TIME, New Yorker, Spiegel, Guardian. He collaborates regularly with humanitarian organizations such as Medecins du Monde and Amnesty International. He has been dedicated for the last seven years to a long-term project on migration, focusing on the perilous European paths that migrants follow.

Yorgos Prinos
curator
Born in 1977 in Athens, Greece. In 2011 he received an MFA from the Yale University School of Art with a scholarship from Yale University. He is co-founder of the non-profit organization ART/IF/ACT, artist and co-curator of the art collective Depression Era. He has served as instructor, visiting critic or lecturer at the Yale University School of Art, the International Center of Photography, Wesleyan University, County College of Morris, the City College of New York and others. His work has been presented in various venues and publications in Europe, the United States and Asia and his photographs are in private and public collections.

Pasqua Vorgia
curator
Pasqua was born in London in 1975. She studied cultural management (MA) at Panteion University in Athens, organizational psychology (MA) at Columbia University – for which she was awarded a Fulbright and an Onassis Foundation scholarship – psychology at the University of Athens, and photography at the International Center of Photography in New York. She has lived in New York for many years, where she worked as an independent documentary producer and freelance writer. In 2011 she joined photographer Pavlos Fysakis at the art collective Depression Era, for which she still works as artist and curator. She has participated in various exhibitions in Greece and abroad, while in 2015 she had her second solo show, curated by Dimitris Alitheinos, at “Oplostasio” in Athens. Since autumn 2016, she has been working in the field of cultural management at the Onassis Cultural Center in Greece.

Christina Kalligianni

Born in Athens in 1971, completed her legal studies at the University of Athens and at UKC and then studied photography in Athens. Since 2002 she has worked as a trainee for Reuters in Athens (in the run up for the 2004 Olympic Games) and as photographer and editor for major newspapers as well as for a variety of other publications (variety and technical). She has translated and edited the Greek editions of two photography books and in the last five years she has undertaken commercial and artistic studio projects.

Christophoros Doulgeris

Born in 1975 in northern Greece.  He studied sociology at the University of Crete, Greece and then moved to London where he studied photography at the Camberwell College of Arts. He returned to Athens in 2003 and has been working as a freelance photographer ever since. His work is represented by “Donopoulos International Fine Arts”.

Melinna Kaminari

Born in 1968, in Athens, Greece. She is a Doctor of Communication Media and Culture (Panteion University). She studied Graphic Arts and Photography in Athens and “Image and Communication” at Goldsmiths’ (University of London). She is a photographer, a writer and a tutor (TEI Athens). She has presented work regarding Visual Culture and Photography, in many photo-festivals as well as in conferences  in Greece and abroad,  that have been distinguished and published in various media.

Evita Lykou

Evita Lykou holds a PhD from the Department of English and Related Literature, University of York. Her thesis, “Autobiographies: Psychoanalysis and the Graphic Novel”, is focusing on the procedure of the construction of social and personal identity, through the usage of comics as a medium, in psychoanalytic terms. She has acquired a Master of Arts Degree on Modern and Contemporary Literature and Culture, from the University of York, and is a graduate of the Department of Communication, Media and Culture, Panteion University. She has been actively involved with drama and theatre since 2006, through the Drama Centre of Panteion University, participating in performances, workshops and seminars.
