Points of Authority
The financial crisis, which was triggered in the U.S.A through mass mortgage collapses and the crash of Lehman Bros in 2008, continues to devastate Europe. Weaker economies are severely affected by the domino effect of economic instability. This project is an attempt to comment on the corrupt European banking system by focusing on the financial vein of the City of London. The City of London represents worldwide banking corporations. These anonymous, undemocratic institutions contribute to the European poverty agenda but are utterly detached from those suffering the consequences. With this project I invite the viewer to question the real causes of the crisis and to consider those who benefit from it. Is it a financial crisis or a crisis of capitalism?
